Mr. Levy is Vice Chairman of RER Financial
Group, LLC and CEO of RER Equities, Inc., RER’s
asset acquisition and investment company. A commercial
real estate attorney by background, Mr. Levy has over
20 years of experience in commercial real estate transactions
with an extensive involvement in real estate finance,
including the workout and disposition of troubled
real estate and loans secured by real estate.
In his capacity as an attorney in private practice,
Mr. Levy represented lenders and developers in all aspects
of commercial real estate transactions, including the
negotiation and documentation of the acquisition, financing,
leasing, property management, syndication and disposition
of apartment projects, shopping centers, office buildings,
hotels, industrial warehouses, land development and
other projects.
In addition to Mr. Levy’s activity as an attorney
in private practice, during the mid-1980’s Mr.
Levy served as General Counsel and Senior Vice President
of the J.E. Robert Companies, a national asset management/capital
recovery firm. In this capacity, Mr. Levy was involved
in the evaluation, asset management and disposition
of over $2 billion of troubled loans and real estate
for banks, savings and loans, the FSLIC and the Federal
Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Mr. Levy received a B.A. with Honors from Brandeis University
in Waltham, Massachusetts in 1973; a Juris Doctor from
the Georgetown University Law Center in Washington,
D.C. in 1977; and a Master of Laws in Taxation from
the Georgetown University Law Center in Washington,
D.C. in 1981.
